Nomenclatural History
The species Pacificibacter marinus was originally described by Park et al. 2014. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 166 in 2015. Hördt et al. published an emended description of this species in 2020. Park et al. formed this name in 2014 by placing the species Jung et al. 2011 into the genus Romanenko et al. 2011 emend. Park et al. 2014.
