The species Serratia vespertilionis was originally described and validly published by García-Fraile et al. 2015. García-Fraile et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of
Serratia ficaria Grimont et al. 1981 emend. García-Fraile et al. 2020
in 2020.
