The species Confluentimicrobium lipolyticum was originally described by Park et al. 2014. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 163 in 2015. In 2020, Hördt et al. established Confluentimicrobium lipolyticum as the basonym of
Actibacterium lipolyticum (Park et al. 2015) Hördt et al. 2020
