Nomenclatural History
The species Cereibacter changlensis was originally described and validly published by Suresh et al. 2015. Hördt et al. published an emended description of this species in 2020. Suresh et al. formed this name in 2015 by placing the species (Anil Kumar et al. 2007) Chen et al. 2013 into the genus Suresh et al. 2015 emend. Hördt et al. 2020.

Hameed et al. 2020 disagree with the placement of this species in Cereibacter, and maintain that it belongs in Gemmobacter.
