Nomenclatural History
The species Ensifer americanum was originally described by Wang et al. 2013. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 162 in 2015. Upon validation, this name was corrected from (sic) to . Hördt et al. published an emended description of this species in 2020. Wang et al. formed this name in 2013 by placing the species corrig. Toledo et al. 2004 into the genus Casida 1982 emend. Kuzmanović et al. 2022.
