Nomenclatural History
The species Acuticoccus yangtzensis was originally described by Hou et al. 2015. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 175 in 2017. Yin et al. published an emended description of this species in 2018. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Hördt et al. in 2020.
