The species Archangium minus was originally described and validly published by Lang et al. 2015. Lang et al. formed this name in 2015 by placing the species
Cystobacter minus (sic) (Krzemieniewska and Krzemieniewski 1926) McCurdy 1970 (Approved Lists 1980)
into the genus Archangium Jahn 1924 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Awal et al. 2017.
