Nomenclatural History
The species Soonwooa purpurea was originally described and validly published by Sirra et al. 2017.

García-López et al. 2020 indicate that Soonwooa purpurea should be reclassified as a species of Chryseobacterium, and transferred Soonwooa buanensis (the type species of Soonwooa) into Chryseobacterium, effectively unifying the genera. However, the authors failed to transfer this species.
