Nomenclatural History
|
The species Clavibacter nebraskensis was originally described and validly published by Nouioui et al. 2018. Li et al. elevated the subspecies
Clavibacter michiganensis nebraskensis corrig. (Vidaver and Mandel 1974) Davis et al. 1984
to the rank of species to form this name in 2018.
Clavibacter sepedonicus (Vidaver and Mandel 1974) Li et al. 2018 was considered to be illegitimate because it contravened Rules 34a and 50a (the elevation in rank was incorrectly proposed as a new combination rather than a new species). Nouioui et al. 2018 later corrected this problem, and the name is now considered to have standing.
