Nomenclatural History
The genus Saliniramus was originally proposed by Cole et al. 2018. This name was validly published by Cole et al. 2018. This name replaces the name Cole et al. 2018 non Salinivirga Ben Hania et al. 2017 .

Originally proposed as Salinivirga but the genus name was changed to Saliniramus in order to avoid creating a later homonym.
