The species Yoonia tamlensis was originally described and validly published by Wirth and Whitman 2018. Hördt et al. published an emended description of this species in 2020. Wirth and Whitman formed this name in 2018 by placing the species
Loktanella tamlensis Lee 2012 emend. Hördt et al. 2020
into the genus Yoonia Wirth and Whitman 2018.
