The species Pseudomonas abyssi was originally described and validly published by Wei et al. 2018. Lalucat et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of Mulet et al. 2018 in 2020. In 2021, Saati-Santamaría et al. established as the basonym of (Wei et al. 2018) Saati-Santamaría et al. 2021 .
