Nomenclatural History
The species Methylorubrum extorquens was originally described and validly published by Green and Ardley 2018. Hördt et al. published an emended description of this species in 2020. Green and Ardley formed this name in 2018 by placing the species (Urakami and Komagata 1984) Bousfield and Green 1985 emend. Kato et al. 2008 into the genus Green and Ardley 2018.
