Nomenclatural History	The species Microlunatus spumicola was originally described by Nouioui et al. 2018. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 184 in 2018. Nouioui et al. corrected this name from Microlunatus spumicolus (sic) to Microlunatus spumicola . Nouioui et al. formed this name in 2018 by placing the species Friedmanniella spumicola Maszenan et al. 1999 into the genus Microlunatus Nakamura et al. 1995 emend. Nouioui et al. 2018.
