Nomenclatural History
The species Aliarcobacter butzleri was originally described by Pérez-Cataluña et al. 2018. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 191 in 2020. Pérez-Cataluña et al. formed this name in 2018 by placing the species (Kiehlbauch et al. 1991) Vandamme et al. 1992 into the genus Pérez-Cataluña et al. 2020.

Frontiers in Microbiology changed the spelling of this genus from Aliiarcobacter to Aliarcobacter after publication.
