Nomenclatural History	The species Lachnoclostridium sphenoides was originally described by Yutin and Galperin 2013. Yutin and Galperin formed this name in 2013 by placing the species Clostridium sphenoides (Douglas et al. 1919) Bergey et al. 1923 (Approved Lists 1980) into the genus Lachnoclostridium Yutin and Galperin 2013. Haas and Blanchard replaced this name with Lacrimispora sphenoides (Douglas et al. 1919) Haas and Blanchard 2020 in 2020. Yutin and Galperin 2013 did not formally propose this new combination.
