Nomenclatural History
The species Ruminiclostridium leptum was originally described by Yutin and Galperin 2013. Yutin and Galperin formed this name in 2013 by placing the species Moore et al. 1976 (Approved Lists 1980) into the genus Yutin and Galperin 2013 non Ruminiclostridium Zhang et al. 2018.

Yutin and Galperin 2013 did not formally propose this new combination.
