The species Entomoplasma syrphidae was originally described and validly published by Gasparich and Kuo 2019. Gasparich and Kuo formed this name in 2019 by placing the species Tully et al. 1994 into the genus Tully et al. 1993 emend. Gupta et al. 2019.

This name cannot be validly published until a second deposit is confirmed.
