The species Aquirufa nivalisilvae was originally described and validly published by Pitt et al. 2019. Pitt et al. published an emended description of this species in 2020. Pitt et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of
Allopseudarcicella aquatilis Kim et al. 2019
in 2020.
