The species Acetivibrio alkalicellulosi was originally described and validly published by Tindall 2019. Tindall formed this name in 2019 by placing the species corrig. Zhilina et al. 2006 into the genus Patel et al. 1980 emend. Tindall 2019. This name replaces the name (Zhilina et al. 2006) Zhang et al. 2018 .
