The species Cellulomonas aurantiaca was originally described by Kim et al. 2019. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 192 in 2020. Wu et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of Yamamura et al. 2019 emend. Wu et al. 2021 in 2021.
