The species Alkalihalobacillus lonarensis was originally described and validly published by Patel and Gupta 2020. Patel and Gupta formed this name in 2020 by placing the species Reddy et al. 2015 into the genus Patel and Gupta 2020 emend. Joshi et al. 2021. In 2021, Joshi et al. established as the basonym of (Reddy et al. 2015) Joshi et al. 2022 .
