Nomenclatural History
The species Phocaeicola massiliensis was originally described by García-López et al. 2019. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 193 in 2020. García-López et al. formed this name in 2019 by placing the species corrig. Fenner et al. 2005 emend. Hahnke et al. 2016 into the genus Al Masalma et al. 2009 emend. García-López et al. 2019.
