Nomenclatural History	The species Acetobacter paradoxus was originally described by Hördt et al. 2020. Hördt et al. elevated the subspecies Acetobacter pasteurianus paradoxus (Frateur 1950) De Ley and Frateur 1974 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Hördt et al. 2020 to the rank of species to form this name in 2020. Hördt et al. 2020 erroneously asserted Acetobacter pasteurianus subsp. ascendens as the basonym.
