Nomenclatural History
The subspecies Rickettsia conorii conorii was originally described by Zhu et al. 2005. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 196 in 2020. In 2005, Zhu et al. reduced Brumpt 1932 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Hördt et al. 2020 to the rank of subspecies.
