The species Leptospira dzianensis was originally described by Vincent et al. 2019. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 195 in 2020. Casanovas-Massana et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of Casanovas-Massana et al. 2020 in 2021.
