The species Pseudodesulfovibrio oxyclinae was originally described by Waite et al. 2020. Galushko and Kuever formed this name in 2019 by placing the species
Desulfovibrio oxyclinae Krekeler et al. 2000
into the genus Pseudodesulfovibrio Cao et al. 2016 emend. Waite et al. 2020.
This name is only effectively published at this time because the type strain is only available in one culture collection.
