The species Pseudodesulfovibrio tunisiensis was originally described and validly published by Waite et al. 2020. Waite et al. formed this name in 2020 by placing the species
Desulfovibrio tunisiensis Ben Ali Gam et al. 2009
into the genus Pseudodesulfovibrio Cao et al. 2016 emend. Waite et al. 2020.
This new combination was cited by Galushko and Kuever 2019 in anticipation of valid publication by Waite et al. 2020.
