The species Sutcliffiella halmapala was originally described by Gupta et al. 2020. This name was validly published by Gupta et al. 2020. Gupta et al. formed this name in 2020 by placing the species
Bacillus halmapalus Nielsen et al. 1995
into the genus Sutcliffiella Gupta et al. 2020.
The corrigendum served as the valid reference due to corrections to the etymology.
