Nomenclatural History
The species Pseudopontixanthobacter sediminis was originally described and validly published by Liu et al. 2021. Liu et al. replaced this illegitimate name with (Kim et al. 2016) Liu et al. 2021 in 2021. Liu et al. formed this name in 2021 by placing the species (Kim et al. 2016) Xu et al. 2020 into the genus Liu et al. 2021.

This species is illegitimate because the genus is a later homotypic synonym of a Validly Published genus.
