Proper Form
| Epibacterium horizontis (Klotz et al. 2018) Liang et al. 2021 |
Nomenclatural History
|
The species Epibacterium horizontis was originally described by Liang et al. 2021. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 202 in 2021. Liang et al. formed this name in 2021 by placing the species
Tritonibacter horizontis Klotz et al. 2018
into the genus Epibacterium Penesyan et al. 2013 emend. Liang et al. 2021.
This new combination by Liang et al. 2021 would remove the type species of Tritonibacter. Unless a unification were being done (accounting for all Validly Published species of Tritonibacter), this would result in an illegitimate later homotypic synonym at the species level.
