Nomenclatural History	The species Xanthomonas cissicola was originally described and validly published by Rudra and Gupta 2021. Rudra and Gupta formed this name in 2021 by placing the species Pseudomonas cissicola (Takimoto 1939) Burkholder 1948 (Approved Lists 1980) into the genus Xanthomonas (Bergey et al. 1923) Dowson 1939 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Vauterin et al. 1995.
