The species Paracholeplasma brassicae was originally described and validly published by Watanabe et al. 2021. Watanabe et al. formed this name in 2021 by placing the species Tully et al. 1994 into the genus Watanabe et al. 2021.

This new combination cannot be validated at this time because the type strain is only available from one culture collection.
