The species Evansella tamaricis was originally described by Narsing Rao et al. 2021. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 206 in 2022. Narsing Rao et al. formed this name in 2021 by placing the species Zhang et al. 2018 into the genus Gupta et al. 2020.
