The species Streptomyces netropsis was originally described by Witt and Stackebrandt 1990. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 38 in 1991. Labeda established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of Witt and Stackebrandt 1991 pro synon. Streptoverticillium kentuckense (Barr and Carman 1956) Baldacci et al. 1966 (Approved Lists 1980) in 1996. Labeda established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of Witt and Stackebrandt 1991 pro synon. Streptoverticillium distallicum Locci et al. 1969 (Approved Lists 1980) in 1996. Labeda established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of Witt and Stackebrandt 1991 pro synon.
