The species Streptomyces paradoxus was originally described by Goodfellow et al. 1986. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 22 in 1986. Goodfellow et al. established Streptomyces paradoxus as a later homotypic synonym of
Actinosporangium violaceum Krasil'nikov and Yuan 1961 (Approved Lists 1980)
in 1986.
