Nomenclatural History	The species Streptomyces platensis was originally described by Backus and Tresner 1956. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Nouioui et al. published an emended description of this species in 2018. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Komaki and Tamura in 2020. Komaki and Tamura established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of Streptomyces libani rufus Baldacci and Grein 1966 (Approved Lists 1980) in 2020. Komaki and Tamura established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of Streptomyces hygroscopicus glebosus Ohmori et al. 1962 (Approved Lists 1980) in 2020.
