The species Streptomyces roseoflavus was originally described by Arai 1951. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Lanoot et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of
Streptomyces fradiae (Waksman and Curtis 1916) Waksman and Henrici 1948 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Lanoot et al. 2004
in 2004.
