Nomenclatural History

The species Streptomyces virginiae was originally described by Grundy et al. 1952. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Nouioui et al. published an emended description of this species in 2018. Komaki and Tamura established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of
Streptomyces cinnamonensis Okami 1952 (Approved Lists 1980)
in 2021.
