The species Streptoverticillium kashmirense was originally described by Locci et al. 1969. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. established Streptoverticillium kashmirense as an earlier homotypic synonym of
Streptomyces kashimirensis corrig. Witt and Stackebrandt 1991 pro synon. Streptoverticillium kashmirense (Gupta and Chopra 1963) Locci et al. 1969 (Approved Lists 1980)
in 2017.
