Nomenclatural History
The species Nocardiopsis africana was originally described by Preobrazhenskaia et al. 1982. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 17 in 1985. Preobrazhenskaia et al. formed this name in 1982 by placing the species Preobrazhenskaya and Sveshnikova 1974 (Approved Lists 1980) into the genus (Brocq-Rousseau 1904) Meyer 1976 (Approved Lists 1980). In 1990, Kroppenstedt et al. established as the basonym of (Preobrazhenskaya and Sveshnikova 1974) Kroppenstedt et al. 1991 .
