The species Actinomadura polychroma was originally described by Galatenko et al. 1981. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 23 in 1987. In 1990, Kroppenstedt et al. established as the basonym of (Galatenko et al. 1987) Kroppenstedt et al. 1991 .
