Nomenclatural History
The family Frankiaceae was originally proposed by Becking 1970. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Hahn et al. published an emended description of this family in 1989. Subsequent emendations were proposed by Normand et al. in 1996, Stackebrandt et al. in 1997 and Zhi et al. in 2009.
