Nomenclatural History
The genus Geodermatophilus was originally proposed by Luedemann 1968. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Luedemann published an emended description of this genus in 1974. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Montero-Calasanz et al. in 2017.
