Nomenclatural History
The species Scardovia inopinata was originally described and validly published by Jian and Dong 2002. Downes et al. published an emended description of this species in 2011. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Nouioui et al. in 2018. Jian and Dong formed this name in 2002 by placing the species Crociani et al. 1996 into the genus Jian and Dong 2002 emend. Downes et al. 2011.
