Nomenclatural History

The genus Pelczaria was originally proposed by Poston 1993. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 48 in 1994. This name was placed onto the nomina taxorum rejicienda by Judicial Opinion 78 in 2005. Tindall et al. replaced this name with
Kocuria Stackebrandt et al. 1995
in 2000.
