The species Spirochaeta caldaria was originally described by Pohlschroeder et al. 1994. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 55 in 1995. In 2013, Abt et al. established as the basonym of corrig. (Pohlschroeder et al. 1995) Abt et al. 2013 . In 2022, Brune et al. established as the basonym of (Pohlschroeder et al. 1995) Brune et al. 2022 .
