Nomenclatural History
|
The species Treponema denticola was originally described by Brumpt 1925. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1993 the name was revived and validly published by Chan et al.. Hördt et al. published an emended description of this species in 2020.
