Nomenclatural History	The species Bacteroides splanchnicus was originally described by Werner et al. 1975. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. In 2008, Hardham et al. established Bacteroides splanchnicus as the basonym of Odoribacter splanchnicus (Werner et al. 1975) Hardham et al. 2008 emend. Hahnke et al. 2016 .
