Nomenclatural History
The species Porphyromonas asaccharolytica was originally described and validly published by Shah and Collins 1988. Hahnke et al. published an emended description of this species in 2016. Shah and Collins formed this name in 1988 by placing the species (Holdeman and Moore 1970) Finegold and Barnes 1977 (Approved Lists 1980) into the genus Shah and Collins 1988 emend.
